Vision therapy, also known as orthoptics, addresses ocular conditions that cannot be correct by glasses or contacts alone. Examples of some of these conditions include lazy eye or eye turn, eye movement deficiencies, focusing problems, and visual-perceptual delays. Therapy involves weekly in office sessions utilizing exercises to systematically stress the visual system. The ultimate goal of vision therapy is to resolve any visual symptoms that cause discomfort, and to have a properly functioning visual system.
